Recipe for Homemade Mint Chocolate chip Ice cream

Certainly! Here is a recipe for locally built mint chocolate chip frozen yogurt:

Ingredients:

·         2 cups heavy cream

·         1 cup whole milk

·         3/4 cup granulated sugar

·         1/4 teaspoon salt

·         2 teaspoons pure peppermint extract

  • A couple of drops of green food shading (discretionary)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate

Instructions:

1.    In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, salt, peppermint extract, and green food coloring (if desired). Mix until the sugar is fully dissolved and the ingredients are well combined.

  1. Follow the manufacturer's instructions to churn the mixture in an ice cream maker. This usually takes about 20-25 minutes, but times may vary.

3.    While the ice cream is churning, prepare the chocolate chips or chopped chocolate. You can either use store-bought chocolate chips or chop a chocolate bar into small pieces.

  1. About 5 minutes before the churning process is complete, add the chocolate chips/chopped chocolate into the ice cream maker. Permit them to blend into the frozen yogurt.
  2. Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container when it reaches the consistency of soft serve. If you prefer a firmer texture, you can place the ice cream in the freezer for a couple of hours before serving.
  3. If you're not serving the ice cream immediately, make sure to press a layer of plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the ice cream before sealing the container with a lid. This will assist in preventing the formation of ice crystals.
  4. Allow the ice cream to freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight to fully set before serving.

Enjoy your delicious homemade ice cream with mint chocolate chips!
